Samsung expecting big tech price hikes

Samsung Electronics expects memory chip supply shortages to raise prices across the electronics industry, including potentially among its own consumer products.

The South Korean company is the world’s largest memory maker, but even its portfolio is not immune to the surging cost of the component essential to everything from smartphones and laptops to connected home appliances and self-driving cars.

they are driving a price increase BUT it is fair of them to say that Ram, chip and SOC prices are out of control so anything that uses Ram or a chip is fair game

They make memory for a lot of tech companies, the shortage is due to new AI centers that use huge amounts of memory so that people can fap to AI girlfriends and all the other bullsh!t that comes with AI. Tech companies have a little boner for AI so it isn't going away. It is going to be worse for society than social media ever was.
