Samsung F700 help

Hi guys, doing some research on the Samsung F700 and i reckon
i'm gonna trade in my SE P990i for it.
I'm just a bit concerned about what diabolus said here:

I'm using MTN, will the vodafone firmware cause any problems?
And is flashing the new firmware easy to do?
all i want to do is download mxit & Gmail then i'm happy, if i cant then i'm not buying
this phone

PS does this phone have 3G?

My friend got one recently. Said he had it for like 4 days, and its spent the past month with vodacom getting 'software upgrades'....

Maybe its a dud tho. Good luck with yours

Yes the firmware is easy to install

Yes it has 3G

Yes gmail works and so does mxit.

Nice phone, battery life is not brilliant though.

Lasts 1 day, +- 1 hour calling +- 2 hours on 3G +-2 watching videos on it

Hey Guys I'm Back and i Got my Samsung F700, Luckily it already had the Vodafone software so i didn't have to change yay
Only thing that sucks is the Camera, really slow

Anyways I stumbled accross this while looking for an avi player for my phone:

The F700 can play avi
Is this a mistake? Cos i've tried and it doesn't
Is this an updated model?
If so can i update to this software?
