Samsung G3 Station external drive

I recently bought one of these (like the one found here: http://www.nivo.co.za/buy~samsung.g3.station.2tb.desktop.external.hard.drive.cobalt.black~p20752) and while it seems like a decent drive, it's got a rather annoying habit of powering down after about a minute of non-use, and then having to spin up again to read. Is there any way to stop this? I've checked my XP power management settings and harddrives are set to never turn off.

If your XP settings are correct then it will be the USB/SATA controller that is doing the deed, a bit like the WD MyBook drives which power up and down to save power - very frustrating.

WD have a firmware 'fix' for the ridiculous upping and downing but I'm not sure about those Samsung drives.
