Samsung Galaxy Ace 2

R3500 for that phone is pretty steep, considering you can get a new S2 for around R4000 if you shop around...

As for the sluggish current Ace, an established custom ROM will sort it out very quickly. Got so frustrated with my Optimus One and after flashing it with GingerSnap from XDA, it has become the phone it would have never been: smooth, fast, decent battery life.

I've yet to find a custom ROM that works without problems.

Using the official Samsung 2.3.6 ROM for Spain & it's brilliant.

That's good news. Even the latest ROM from LG for the Optimus One (2.3.7) is garbage. I all but went back to the stock Froyo ROM until I bit the bullet and experimented with a bunch of custom ROM's and found one which ticked 99% of the boxes.
 
let us know when they have it in stock, would hate to miss out on this phone... Local network providers are never gonna bring us the cracker of a phone

I'm also convinced this is gonna be a great phone, as I've only read good reviews about it.

But, still most important to me, the call quality must be good & so far people with this phone says it's outstanding.
 
I also enquired about the phone with 3G Mobile... They told me it's R4450!!! :(. Did the price suddenly take a hike? You can get a brand new S II at that price

LOL....did you tell them that it's actually R3400 on their web site? Crazy.

This phone is a brilliant buy if you can get it brand new for R3500 or less. More than that & you are venturing into Samsung Galaxy S2 territory.

But watch how this phone takes the market by storm, once it arrives here. ;)
 
Went to CellC the weekend - they couldn't find the Ace 2 on their stock projections for both this and next next month. :mad:
 
Can't understand why the Ace 2 is not available in South Africa yet.

Wonder what is the hold-up?
