So anyone got this device? I bought one as a extra was really wanting the LTE version of this device but could not find it anywhere. I guess they just sell the J100F model which is the 3G version of the device with a 1.2 dual core cpu and 512mb RAM....

The device retails for R1499 at CNA,Edgars or Edgars Active and on MTN you get a 8GB samsung micro sd card included. Very good deal for a pretty decent device running KitKat 4.4.4

The device comes in black, white and blue with a rounded back like and sides making it very very comfortable in the hand. The back is also smooth which feel much better than my S5 to be honest.

4GB on board memory which is okay I guess for the price range but the 8GB extra card you get free really makes it a decent deal by far.

Battery life is decent but I did feel that charging time is a bit long. Not sure why though as I have tried to use both the included charger and my S5 charger but charging time did not reduce. Another problem I have is the actual charger. The cable is built into it so you basically don't get a usb cable. I guess they had to save money somewhere.

The screen is awesome. Brightness is there and although no light censor to automatically adjust screen brightness it does come with a "Outdoor" button you can just tap to switch the screen to full brightness.

I have not tested the camera that much but from the pictures I have taken they are not too bad. It also got a flash and front facing camera.

Speaker is loud but lacking in sound quality so you might want to get a decent set of earphones if you plan on using it for listening to music all the time.

At R1499 it is a AWESOME phone to be honest and I guess that is why there was 3 people in front of me buying the same device. :D

Im looking forward to playing with a Tizen device. How is this one running? Battery etc?

It's on par with the S3 Mini... The new software compared to the S3 Mini is a lot more efficient and gives better performance.

It's not the fastest phone but it runs well with little lag.
Camera isn't great but not much was expected.
512mb RAM is too little if you're using it for many apps and games. It is fine for WhatsApp, Web browsing and Facebook - nothing too hectic.

Overall, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a brand new phone at under 1500. If you don't mind a used phone, get a Samsung S3 rather IMO. Sister in law has had one for about 3 months and is very happy :)

No page dedicated to this phone, that's what i wanna find our here,

Not gonna stop 1,3k on a phone that can't be rooted.
I think the market for this phone doesn't even know what root is... Rather look at a used S3 then :)

Out of interest, why do you want to root?

I think so gonna try a used s3

Wanna root as so many options then open up,
Also i can then keep the phone going for as long as i like,

I have experienced firsthand the Samsung stock rom has a timer that slowly kills the phone,

After its 2 years working, slowly and inexplicitly things start freezing, hanging, not working, GPS locks up, phone says no signal,
Sms's lost, SD card gets corrupted ect.....

Maybe its just me, but more than a few people reported their samsungs acting strangely after 2years of use,

After rooting and loading cyanogen or some other rom problems dissapear mysteriously.

I've had so many issues with my pocket when it was on stock that rom fixed immediately,
And as long as i look after the battery i can use the phone for as long as i wish....
