I need to assist someone remotely but I do not have a Samsung so I am lost too! If anyone can please help ...

The person downloaded Zoom on her cellphone but it seems to me that her camera and microphone are not enabled so she has no sound and no image during a Zoom call.

How/where does she enable it?

Check the settings, privacy options & make sure that the cam & mic has been given permission for Zoom to use them.

If that looks fine make sure the audio & video is enabled for Zoom.

If still no luck after that it's best to dump the J5 & get a new phone & start over.
 
Or go to settings, apps, zoom and check permissions.
