Hi

I ordered this phone because it was Dual Sim and had 3GB RAM according to the takealot website.

Now the phone was delivered and printed on the box is 32GB Memory / 2GB RAM. Checked spec on GSMarena and that site says the 32GB model has 3GB of RAM... Confused and upset.

I have heard that sometimes manufacturers make some cut down models to sell in the third world. Or is the packaging actually a misprint?

There is a 16GB Memory / 2GB Ram model in Botswana. But the 32GB is always listed with 3GB RAM.

Do I take a chance and open it, or get takealot to uplift it?

Google the the SM-Jxxx number.
That will give you exact specs, make sure the results page show the same model.

Takealot product info states 3GB of RAM. Are you sure they sent you the right product?

EDIT:
You're going to have to wait for stock, but I suggest you rather go for e.g. https://www.takealot.com/nokia-6-2-32gb-dual-sim-ice/PLID60570748/reviews/1 if takealot, but can buy it now for R3.2k on hi-online: https://www.hi-online.co.za/pdp/nok...GH09ZGO2wNEn_dlc4C3OKxI_R3Q0obcpeQnQv_R.com02 (Online is out, but you can find one near you, there's at least one place in CT with stock as of checking).
Substantially better screen, the SoC is ~15-30% stronger while it should draw around 10% less power, includes an ultra wide camera, and the normal camera has a better aperture, plus the depth sensor. BT5 as well if you have BT devices, BT5 has quite a bit better range for me than my old 4.2 device, the battery is bigger and finally, it's part of Android One (2 years of major operating system updates, 3 years of security updates guaranteed).

Open it and install this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.andr7e.deviceinfohw then check to see what's up and take it from there.

That phone is seriously outdated. There are better affordable dual SIM phones like Xiaomi.

Yes I have a Xiaomi redmi 6. When using wifi at home youtube videos freeze. When browsing twitter it just stops loading after a while. have to turn on airplane mode and turn it off to continue browsing or watching youtube. Does not happen on my Lenovo tablet.

The model on the packaging matches the takealot website - SM-J600F. But the packaging says 2GB RAM so its not the SM-J600F because that has 3GB RAM. I am starting to think this is a scam.

note that the Nokia screen is not oled
Yes, you'll lose perfect blacks while gaining substantially better pixel density and HDR support (would not write home about the HDR support, that's HDR10, it's just slightly brighter than normal).
Not sure why GSMArena lists it as having an always on display, wonder who messed that one up or was bad marketing, what was probably referred to was the notification LED on the power button or a misinterpretation of ambient display (so turn on the screen for a moment when you get a notification).
