Hi all,

I am facing some issues with my WiFi. It is as if the WiFi turns on and off by itself. The WiFi icon states that it's connected, but I can access anything online?

Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards,

Yes, that seems to be a problem with the Galaxy S. What I do is switch off WiFi when I'm not using it (like when I'm going to sleep or at work) and switch it on again when I need it.

This does not only make me forget about the problem, but also saves battery.

I hope the Froyo (Android 2.2) upgrade that will be available in Feb will fix this issue.

Im on a custom froyo 2.2.1 ROM at the moment, and dont experience that problem with my wifi. So i guess you haveto wait for the update :-)

I had a wierd one with the wifi - My Galaxy S3 was working just fine untill this morning. Suddenly it couldn't see my router, whatever I tried. I've had this phone for about a month now and haven't had a problem with it since I got it.

I finally found a posting on the web - http://galaxys3reviews.net/samsung-galaxy-s3-wifi-problem-fix
Seems there is a issue with the wifi on the Galaxy S3. no one knows what is causing it - but there is a qucik fix that works most of the time.

1. Open up the Galaxy S3 phone dialer
2. Then dial *#0011#
3. Look for the “ServiceMode” screen and press the left menu button
4. Select “WiFi”
5. You should see that the “WiFi Power Save Mode” button is “ON” – now put it on “OFF”
6. Exit the menu, switch off your WiFi, then switch it back on again. If your router details are saved and automatically connects, get your Galaxy S3 to forget or delete the network information. Then reconnect, putting in all the required information.

I also went into Advanced WiFi and Set the WiFi Frequency band to 'Auto' instead of '5 Ghz only'.

That seemed to do the trick.
I'm going to keep an eye on this and will post if it happens again.

Had this problem. Only way back then was to do a factory reset, but the problem would crop up again. Finally just installed a custom Rom. Been working fine since.

Hi Guys

I also seem to be having a problem with my Galaxy S3. My flat mate and I recently got our own router and his Galaxy S3 has a full signal strength whilst i'm struggling to get a strong signal. I have tried to disable Power Saving Wifi Mode by dialing the *#0011#.
ANY ideas?? Thanks

Same problem on the P6800 Tab with ics 4.0.4.

Seems that Samsung have lost the plot.

Try reducing the router to g speeds. Try a different channel. Toggle Wi-Fi sleep policy.
