Hello!

I have problems with my phone. Everytime I go into my gallery, the screen goes black and I get the following message:

Unfortunately, the Gallery has stopped working. Then I press the button OK, and then when I go into the gallery it works again. It is everytime I go into this app that I get that message, and I have to press ok and then try again.

What could be the problem? Is the device faulty, is there something I can do to fix it?

Thank you
Nicci

Hi Nicci,

He most common reason for this is that the storage space is full or almost full.

Try moving or deleting data to free up space, primarily on the device's primary storage.

Try the following:

Manage Apps ---> All ----> Gallery ----> Clear Data

Ok, thank you, I will do this.

Hello :) There are hardly any apps on my phone, and only 100 photos. I have a 32 gig phone and still have like 31 gigs left. Not sure if this is the problem?

Yeah, pretty sure that's not it then. :-)

Tap on : Settings > Application manager > All (scroll to the right) > Gallery (scroll down) > Clear data.

Then go back to Gallery and see if it's working smoothly.

Press the menu key on the bottom left of the phone next to the home screen button.

This will bring up a menu which has system settings, manage apps, etc etc.

Choose "manage apps".

This will open up the applications menu with all the current running apps listed.

If you swipe to the left, you'll see a listing of all installed apps, scroll down to gallery and open up the gallery.

You'll be presented with a couple of buttons, "click" clear data.

This should solve your problem.

AHHH! Thank you! Ok, it was on the top :D Thank you!! Ok I have done that. The first time it seems to work - will test it out :) Thank you very much for all the help, I appreciate it!

Also, if you are using a micro SD card, it might be that as well.

Give it a good look and change your Camera's default storage settings from external to internal.

Now, when I use my camera, that tutorial thing pops up the whole time that say place two fingers on screen and move back and front to zoom. I tick the box to say do not display, but everytime I open my gallery this pops up!! This only happened after I cleared my cache. How can I fix this *** gallery on this *** phone please. I am about to throw this phone in the loo.

haha....just chill Nicci! Don't do anything stoopid.

Ok, can you go to Settings > Application Manager > Gallery again?

Then tap on "Force Stop", then "Clear data" and then restart your phone?

If it still doesn't work, then take the phone in for repairs.

Don't use the default Gallery app. QuickPic is free and much better imo.
