Hi guys, I need some input please

I am having issues with my Samsung galaxy 4, recently discovered a 'Not registered on network' error with my sim card. At first I thought it was the sim card, so I tested the sim in another phone and it works perfect, tested both 8ta and Vodacom sim cards and both of them has the same error on my s4, however these sims work in other phones.

this error came up after i updated my phones software

anyone else experience something like this?

Corrupted IMEI. I have the exact same issue on my S3. Type in *#06# and it will give you your IMEI. If it ends with something like 0000/1, or it says NULL/Invalid or something similar, this is the case.

tried 2 vodacom sims, and 2 8ta sims, all give the same "not registered" error, however they work in other phones. also checked my IMEI number is not corrupt.

I called Samsung and they suggest I take the phone in to a Samsung center. What's interesting is they say updates are sent via the carrier, which means CellC is responsible for my issue.

Guys. Also verify your IMEI under the battery matches the one in the software. That's another reason why a network won't log you on.

just to follow up, did you manage to sort out the problem, i was also told to take it in to a samsung center, but they want me to pay to reload software and cant guarantee that the problem will be fixed? so i will have to pay even if the problem still persists.

I decided to switch to my Vodacom sim, which works, rather than have to reload everything.

I'm surprised they want you to pay, perhaps investigate CyanogenMod

I have the exact same problem with my S4 that started this Saturday and I don't know what to do. Vodacom sims don't work at all but other networks do. Took the phone to Vodacom and they said it ain't blocked via IMEI and they don't know what it is. Did a factory reset on the phone but that hasn't helped. firmware version is jellybean 4.2.2 It's very frustrating. Anyone got a solution?
