Hi Guys

I heard that samsung has released an official extended battery of 2000mah for the S2. I heard it extends the battery life quite a bit.

They also include a free official battery cover to accomodate the larger size battery. The cover looks good since it evens out the back of the phone making it flat, and offers a bit more protection for the camera.

There are pics below from the xda forums:

Does anyone have this battery as yet? or know if its available at any local cellphone shops especially in kzn?

Also, does the phone fit in cases like the sgp case?

I'd also be keen on this official 2000mah battery + flat back cover. Subscribing to the thread.

Comments about it lasting 25% longer. I'd only get this battery if it could last 2 days without charge with (my) normal usage. It could just do it. If it needs a top up charge, kinda pointless.

Found this on Expansys:

Looks like the right thing, official Samsung too.

Where abouts in KZN are you?

also interested in getting this samsung extended battery, from other reviews it seems impressive, thinking of ordering but expansy's show long lead time, any ideas of who else stocks it?

Expansys

Standard delivery cost for this item is R90.00. If you order this product before 12pm today, ZA customers can expect shipment in 38 working days. ???
38 working days they are kidding surely

Really keen to get this battery, as there is one other big benefit to getting it - the new case actually protects your camera lens.

I've seen guys on YouTube stretching their battery life to 2 days + with this baby, so I seriously want one!

But Expansys says it will only be here in December? :(

protecting the camera lens is a +

i think its worth the wait.

I placed an order for this on the 2nd October 2011 (The SA site). I am still waiting. At the time i ordered it, Expansys said that they would take about 14 days to deliver.

I am really annoyed how the delivery time increases. Its the first time I ordered something from them and I am really not impressed.

They say they have no stock as yet, but there are plenty of user reviews below which claim that customers got theirs recently.

Really poor customer service.
