SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Well I'm happy even though I was not going to upgrade anyway.
 
I can't help wondering what could have been if Sammie dared more. Is there another tablet on the way with more innovation? Seems like it.
 
This looks like Samsung's worker bee tablet. Perfect for mass use in the corporate environment.
 
I still wonder why Samsung didn't slap in a Exynos quad-core CPU in the new tablet, with an improved Mali GPU.

Only thing I can think of, is that they simply don't have enough CPUs, cos they're selling it to other companies as well and the Galaxy S3 is getting preferential treatment.

Why I think another higher end more cutting edge device is on the way. Must be. The Tab 2 is so average it fits the bill for companies wanting to issue them to staff in large numbers.

Why would you say this? I would think the expected Windows 8 tablets would be far more suited for the corporate environment.

You reckon they're just clearing out the old stock, like they're doing with their 2011 Smart TVs?

Not so much clearing out old stock (but that can well be the case) but handing the corporate market a conservative but competent solution that is more cost effictive. It obviously helps that all those overstocked screens and processors clear out in the process.

Android must move now to capture a larger % of corporate matket. Windows 8 tablets wont just come in and walk away with this. Apple has its own ideas about this also (a new 10" iPad coming out end of year already). On my side I've already standarised on Android as I am rolling out already and cannot wait for Windows 8. Many are doing the same, going for cheaper Android tablets.

Just saw over at Engadget that Google will also start standardizing with Jellybean towards the end of the year.

You gonna have a few OEMs offering a Nexus phone, unbranded and all running stock Android 5.0 .

Interesting times indeed.
 
I always understood ICS to be Google's standardisation effort but now it's moved on to Jelly Bean.
