Definately gonna grab this with my next upgrade

The Gear S3 Frontier and Classic are clear improvements over the Gear S2 line, with bigger displays, better hardware, larger batteries and new capabilities. The only downside to be found here is the size of the watches, which may not be compatible with smaller wrists — though that "issue" is heavily mitigated by the fact that the Gear S2 and S2 Classic are still on sale at new lower prices and will be receiving the latest software by the end of the year.

Anyone know of the Samsung Gear S2 3G version? What is the current SA price and availability online? Cannot find a single Samsung Gear S2 thread on MyBB as well except for the news articles.

Iv been looking at the 3G Gear S2 as well , it's not available in SA as far as I could see and the reason being is our networks like Europe do not support the built in sim . I'm actually considering importing one for 2 reasons , it has GPS and it has the speaker whereas the regular version does not . The 3G function would be useless here in SA currently though ,but at least I would have use of the Speaker and GPS . The downside though of the 3G version is it is thicker though , so it's a bit of a trade off .

Thanks for that bit of info. I wish the Gear S3 was released and had a price already but the Frontier version might then have the same limitations in SA with no support for the sim. If it's not out here in SA by December, I might just have to take the Makro special on the Gear S2 classic.

Which stores have this watch besides Dion ?
I would like to assess the size of this watch.

Just a heads up to those who are following, Samsung SA started advertising the watch on their Facebook page after what seemed an eternity.

They cannot confirm stock however little birdies say that Samsung Sandton have stock of these already.

Saw one today at Menlyn Dion Wired. Going for R6000.

On the actual device - it is quite a bit bigger. But I do really like it. It's probably the perfect size for me, the S2 is a little small. Really well built device with the metal body, bands, etc. It is rather thick though

They didn't have the frontier in stock.

Will stick to my S2 classic for a while longer. R6k is a bit much for me

Agree. Trust SA companies to inflate prices on any new product without any interference from the manufacturer.

Hm. I see on Amazon that they're going for about R5200. So an R800 mark up on that I guess isn't that much. Still though, too much for me

Does anyone know what is going on with the LTE or 3G connectivity on the frontier version. Most of the watches I come across seem to be bluetooth only. Could it be issues with esim technology in SA?
