I've had this watch for sometime, but can't seem to get anyone locally that sells straps for it. I've tried takealot, incredible connection and Samsung stores. Any advise?

Edit: Makro has one.

Can we hijack this thread and use it for general Gear Sport queries?

I've had the Gear Sport for a few months now. My biggest complaint would be less than 24 hours of battery life with the AOD activated.

And now the watch has taken to going dead from time to time (screen off and refusing to come back to life) and then coming back to life randomly. Anyone else experience the same?

Aod is a killer. Why not try wake up gesture instead.

Also. Try a factory reset. But back up ur data 1st

Trust me. Wake up gesture is reliable and uses way less battery.

I use about 20 to 25% per day with brightness on 4. Maybe an extra 10 on workout days.
I want to be able to see the time without a wake up gesture. Like if you're in a meeting and want to glance at the time of your wrist. Not make it obvious to everyone that you are checking your watch.

Understandable. Though you shouldnt be checking the time on the sly in meetings hey. Thats a CLM.
And even worse is that your company's meeting room doesnt have a clock on the wall.

i suppose if theres no way out then thats the price you'll have to pay.

Maybe set the AOD to come on ASAP (15 seconds) and use faces that have a lot of Black in the AOD

I've tried without AOD for a week and it's actually fine. It's roughly doubled the battery life which is decent.

I didn't last very long without AOD. Turns out I actually need the watch to be a watch more often than you'd think.

New problem. I have the AOD activated and brightness right down to 2 which is perfectly fine. Now when I'm outside the outdoor mode kicks in and dims the AOD to make it unreadable unless you wake the screen, negating the point of AOD in the first place.

Anyone else experiencing this?
