Looks like my Samsung SyncMaster 2333 is done this morning. Green line goes from top to bottom on the screen. According to links it is panel and can't be fixed. I guess it served my good last 3 years.

Any recommendation for 23"-24" Samsung LED or should I wait for the one locally produced as per news from few days ago.

It is second screen so I can use it like that for some time.

Funny enough wanted to take screen capture to share it with you guys but you CAN'T see it on the print screen

Buy a 32" full HD (do not buy HD ready) TV for R2400 +-. Game and DION Wired like to sell off the old stock at cost, go in the store and ask someone. The older TVs are a bit thicker and heavier than the new ones, but the visual quality is identical: they all do 1080p with a response time of +-2ms. For a computer screen, thinner screens don't justify the extra 40% price.

Absolutely worth it. You've got to be crazy not to.

Would need to spend at least R3,500 for a branded set that does PC mode...

Buy a DVI to HDMI cable for R70. My TV I'm using currently doesn't have a PC mode, and has all colour modes turned off; my graphics card does all the grunt work. PC mode is a gimmick ;)

Mind explaining why it would be a gimmick?

Which TV do you have, and to which cheapie TVs do you ascribe this to?

Does your TV allow your graphics card to output native 1920x1080 with no overscan or other post processing that renders most cheapies, in my experience, unbearable for PC monitors?

LG 32LV3500 http://m.lg.com/za/tv-audio-video/television/LG-led-lcd-tv-32LV3500.jsp

Purchased for R2399 at DION Wired Cedar Square 4 months ago.

Native 1080p, LED backlit, 3ms response time, 3 million to 1 contrast ratio. Using a no name 1.5 meter DVI to HDMI cable bought at matrix computers for R70. Screen feed from graphics card fits perfectly, no overscan or postprocessing. Pure 1080p feed, no funny business with the different modes and such.

Sorry for the mess, didn't realise it until after I took the photos :o

Sorry, your extremely cheap price made me think it was a no name brand. That was a great price for your TV, probably goes for R3,500+ usually? So yes, yours would have PC mode (perhaps done automatically using the right cable and port) which disables overscan etc. and allows the graphics card to display natively. Try doing it on a cheapie, chances are high that they won't display such a crisp desktop.

Ah yes, now I see where the confusion was in my post. :o

I meant the usual brands: LG, Samsung, Hisense and Sony. I meant mearly to get the old series models that Dion and Game try to get rid of at cost price.
