It seems I only start threads when I have problems... So nice to belong to a forum like this, infested with clever people... OK, enough brown-nosing.
I have a Samsung HTS, as mentioned above. It has been working quite lekker despite some shortcomings so far. Yesterday, I had the first real trouble with it. We bought a couple of new DVD's (original, not copied or anything) and I got the message DISC ERROR when trying to play them. I assumed it was a DVD region error, so I unlocked it successfully (code was accepted by the machine), but I still get the error. What I did notice, was that the DVD was marked region 0 and the type was DVD-9. Could this player perhaps not support that disc type? Is there a way around this? I contacted Samsung's support line this morning and they suggested I try to region unlock it. The other option was to take it to one of their service centers. Has anybody come across something like this before? Is there anything I can do, besides replacing it?
Thanks!
