Soooo... game has a special on for this home theater system this weekend. Seeing as I only have a cheapish dvd player with support for usb at this moment, i thought it might be a nice upgrade. Does anyone own this?
Says its 3D blu ray player bla bla bla. I have alot of high definition avi,mkv... contents on my pc(most these days are in h264 format). So I would like to copy the movies from my pc to USB and play them in the player. Next, if possible, would be if I can share my pc hdd onto network and access it from the player.

Plus point is I only have tv speakers atm, so at least I am getting better sound as well.

Is this a good system? Cant seem to find any good reviews, except one that claims the audio is out of sync.

I got the 5100. I find it crystal clear. 5100 doesn't come with 3d, but USB playback, wifi (through dongle), LAN, 5.1, BR. It's up there :-) go for it, u won't be dissapointed

I saw a 5100 at Hifi on special, was R2500 if im not mistaken. Looks kinda the same to me. So if its R200 more expensive than the game one and no 3D, then I will go for game one instead, unless I missed something?

Just to let you all know or for future buyers... I bought the player today, and Im real impressed. Everything is rock solid and by this I mean quality. I dont have any blu ray discs to test yet, must go buy some. I Also got a R300 blockbuster rental voucher included in package, which seems nice. All my HD content from pc it does seem to play. MKV AVI M2TS MPG.... I was really amazed to see it play the M2TS content, most of these is encoded in H264 codec and all went well. Sound is awesome( Never had anything more than the 2 speakers from the tv). I just need to test the network and ALLSHARE function over the weekend. Need to run a 50m cable in the ceiling, but before I do that I will move the player to my pc temporarily.
1 Question of which Im not 100% sure, will I be able to run the DSTV through the H/Theatre's sound? I got optical out on PVR2P and the player has a optical in. Otherwise i guess i can just run it with aux out, but my pvr2p is connected with HDMI, dont know if it will work.
