Hey guys, just got a question for those who own an i560.

Just got mine today and loving it with the small ( but possibly big ) problem, when i open Garmin Mobile XT, it just stays on "Searching for satellites". Anyone thats managed to fix this problem, or find out the cause?

Also i noticed when going to Menu|Installations... there's an app called GPS+ but not 100% sure what it does.

Thanks in advance

Are you sat inside or near large buildings? That often causes the sattelites to be out-of-sight.

GPS+ is most probably a way of turning on Assisted-GPS, which uses data from the internet (at your own expense) to gather your location quicker.

im at home so no @ the big buildings... i did also stand outside and still nothing. This is starting to suck

Hmmm, try sitting outside for about 5 minutes, and make sure you start the app while you're outside. This normally works for me when I cant get a fix on the satellites :p

bleddy thing still searching... is there maybe a setting i must enable to enable the inegrated GPS or is it automatically enabled. Also maybe a way i can search for the receiver

Ok just want to check with those that actually have the phone:

When running the Navigator.. i go to Tools|Settings|System and then select Remote GPS.

The only two options appear:
1. Use Bluetooth GPS
2. Use Attached GPS ( im assuming this would be an external GPS reciever of sorts )

I don't see a mention of a 3rd saying "Use internal GPS" or am i missing something.

Reason im curious is that i want to register on garmap.co.za but it asks for a GPS Unit ID which would be found in the above directory.

Oh now i feel doff... problem solved.... infact there was no problem. Just needed to get on the open road.

GPS works like a charm, could go as far as saying i prefer it from the nuvi

Mine keeps on saying "Awaiting better GPS Accuracy"

I've only been able to use the GPS once since I got it :(

The other day I was driving and really needed it, and left it on that screen but it just stayed on the above message.

The roadmap works fine (I can search maps and roads etc) and I can tell my location etc, its just the navigator that doesnt work...

Do I have to download data every week? Coz when I go into settings/GPS and select data download, it hangs on "downloading" and then errors with "data download unavailable"

Any ideas?

EDIT: I just left it for like 15mins & it eventually worked...hope its not gonna always be like that...
