Samsung Laptop Wifi Adapter

I have a Samsung RV510 Laptop with a Broadcom 802.11N wireless adapter which keeps losing connection to my modem/router.I have updated the driver to the latest version.I have changed modem/router to test but no joy,also loses connection every few minutes.I am using a USB wireless adapter which works well.I am beginning to suspect the hardware now.Is it built in to the motherboard or can it be replaced?Any ideas what to do?Thanks
 
It's normally a mini PCI express card, easily replaceable.

Maybe just open it up and have a look, assuming your warranty has expired.
 
Also check the power settings for the adapter - make sure they are switched off
Device Manager -> Network Adapters -> your wireless adapter -> Power Management tab - uncheck "allow comp to turn off"
Test and see if still does the same - if so, then it probably needs replacing if you've already tired the drivers, etc.

Very good advise - had the exact same problem on the mother-in-law-to-be's laptop.

Also went through the various options of uninstalling/reinstalling device, updating drivers etc. Didn't work at all. Disabling the option that allows the PC to turn off the device, that howardb is talking about, fixed the issue.
