SAMSUNG laptops any good?

Hi Guys

Keen to buy this laptop as the price (R5400.00) is really good for the specs:

Intel Dual Core T3400 2.16GHz, 2GB DDR2 Memory, 250GB Hard Drive, 1.3MP Webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11 b,g,n - Windows Vista Home Basic

Anyone have experience with SAMSUNG laptops? One thing I dont like is that they dont have any extended warranty options like ACER/HP but the equivalent laptop from them is easily R1.5k+ more.

Whats the catch?

Manufacturers will sacrifice on build quality to get the price mark to specification balance right. In other words, don't drop it.

Okay. So itll be less robust than say an ASUS or DELL?

I also heard from Rectron that it could be since SAMSUNG builds alot of the components themselves (RAM, HDD, LCD, etc) and so they can build it for cheaper.

Its R4800 odd at Rectron and apparently SAMSUNG is introducing an extended warranty soon.
