Hi guys
I have a full hd samsung tv 32" led.

Firstly id like to know which pic size is recommended...16:9 or the setting after that which just says zoom, which fills the whole screen.
Secondly under the tv settings is standard, movie and dynamic.
Has anyone found the best settings?(contrast, colour, backlight, sharpness etc etc)

Thanks in advance

What model number is it?

Your best bet is to follow the instructions in this link AV Forum

its the ua32h5000 full hd

Does it not have the setting Screen Fit. That is the best bet for HD content, if not stick with 16:9. For the other settings check AV Forum as suggested, for me messing around till you get what suits you is better. One thing you have to do is turn off Motion Plus.

ok i have the "screen fit" option set on the tv.
Which setting now for the dstv hd decoder itself? There is letterbox, pillarbox, stretch, zoom etc
Looks like "stretch" is the default

Depends on your preference but I set 4:3 content to stretch.

The TV set should ALWAYS be set to 16:9 as that is the aspect ratio of the screen.

Your input devices such as XBOX, PlayStation & DSTV should be set to output the image as 16:9 as well so that you get 'the full picture' and not a cropped or zoomed in image.

All DSTV decoders (SD & HD) have an aspect ratio option in their Advanced menu settings:

http://selfservice.dstv.com/self-se...spect-ratio-on-my-standard-or-sd-pvr-decoder/

http://selfservice.dstv.com/self-se...i-change-aspect-ratio-on-the-dstv-hd-decoder/

Here is a posting I made in 2013 explaining all the different aspect ratio settings you can select on a DSTV decoder:

I hope this helps you out.
