Samsung Note 8 vs Note 10.1

I am a tablet noobie and cannot decide between one of these tablets. I will mainly use it for reading PDF's.

Basically same price, where the specs on the note 8 is slightly better and has Android JB, where the 10.1 is a larger screen size but an older version of the OS.

Some people who I have talked to also said that you would get tired holding the 10.1

I agree with them - while having a bigger screen is all well and good, it doesn't help when you consider how much more comfortable it feels to hold an 8inch tab compared to 10inch... I only consider the 7-8inch tabs for my use.

It depends on which 10.1 Tab you're talking about.

The Xperia Tablet Z is super light and thin. Almost shockingly so.

The second generation of the Google Nexus 7 just out in the USA is even lighter and thinner than the Xperia. Google has said a new 10-inch model is in the pipeline and might be worth waiting for if you specifically need a 10".
