Omnia HD has a better camera...8MP, as well 720p HD video recording and 5.1 Dolby Surround. It runs on Symbian.

Omnia II has a much better interface and faster processor. It can also record D1 video, like the HD, but only has a 5MP camera and regular sound. It runs on Windows Mobile, likely 6.5 by the time it reaches SA.

It all depends what you want. Omnia II is the Omnia followup, a true smartphone. Omnia HD is a bells and whistles phone for AV geeks, or for those who want make others jealous. Though the Omnia II will probably serve there too.

Anyone heard release dates in SA? Phoned Vodacom today...they told they'll have it when I see it advertised on TV.

Nice site for the Omnia HD here. It seems the phone is being relaunched with newer firmware. Hopefully this is the version we get here.
