Samsung Omnia Review

The Samsung Omnia has plenty of features and includes some interesting Samsung-developed enhancements. It does fall short when it comes to full finger input and the fact that the stylus is attached outside the body of the phone is also a little disappointing.

I have gotten used to the stylus now, and prefer to use it rather than finger-input.

IPhone still better. I have HTC Diamond , Omnia and Iphone and prefer the Iphone

Nice phone but the Windows 6.1 interface and lack of a keyboard disappoints.
External stylus scratches the screen cover (and R632 a replacement as a result).

The Samsung Interface sits uncomfortably on top of the Windows OS. I reverted back to my Nokia E90 (and the Symbion OS's smooth and effortless functionality) since I could not bear the frustration of pecking at the screen, nor the fairly regular need to reboot. The screen could also have been larger and with a higher resolution.

The Omnia is a great phone none-the-less, but be prepared to recharge daily if you intend using the GPS / 5MP Camera / MP3 / Video functions., and the 8GB onboard + 8GB HDSD was a real bonus.

I got a nice screen protector + leather pouch to make sure it won't get scratched that easy. And I was upgrading from another Windows Mobile device so I don't mind the OS. Regular reboot? Not with my phone..... But I agree with the higher resolution screen.

i enjoy the phone thoroughly.

windows mobile is not that bad for finger input. once you had it for a week you really wont have a problem.

iPhone better, mmmm no! funkier, prettier, better touchscreen interface yes! but camera, functionality, office app's, no no no!! iphone is a piece of art that one can phone with, and has a great browser, but for practicality, usefulness, the Omnia is better, plus my iPhone is very buggy (compatibility issues etc) so ya, iPhone definitely not all its cracked up to be...easily the best ergonomics & interface though, but if you need a phone for business the iPhone aint it, its more a multimedia device that has a phone in it.
