Can I get some opinions, what do you all think of the Omnia? I have looked through a few pages on here and found nothing like this, so if im repeating a question im sorry!

WOW!!!! nice find :D look at the price *tears in eyes*

I know!!! I was like WHAT! LOL!! But now, before I buy it I want to know if its possible to unlock the thing, and if I can use my VC sim. Ill let you know, cos for that price, geez. I was thinking, buying one, then selling the unlocked one for like R3000 LOL!!! But before I make plans, let me first see if its gonna work!

The best thing is the price, lol!

Just to be clear...that is the Samsung eternity...not an Omnia. Uses a different interface AFAIK. Still looks like a cool phone though.
It would be useless for them to try and sell a locked phone here if its locked...right? As we do not have AT&T as a service provider...?

I'd like to have one (or an iPhone), but the price is putting me off. Just look at what else you can buy for that.

Omnia?
I picked up mine on Gumtree for R3.5k, 2nd hand but still in very good condition and with all the accessories still sealed.

I saw that. It's tempting, but risky to buy 2nd hand. I presume you still have the guarantee because it's a new(ish) product.

I've got the original warranty papers with me, those that were in the box.
But the PoP I don't have, as it was an upgrade for the guy that I bought it from.
But he was nice enough to offer to help me out at any time in the future if there is anything that I can't sort out, ie: If there is a glitch with the unit, he'll take it into his SP and have it sorted.

Ok, I have some bad news :( Zenbaas, S&B, herewith the reply I received from Justin, from WIA. Seems I wont be able to purchase the Samsung Eternity after all! Its a pitty, cos it was a damn good price!

Hi Nicci,

I see this phone can actually only be purchased with a service plan ;( Basically this means we wont be able to import if for you, unless we get a contract. Thats basically impossible, so we wont be able to import it ;(

Thanks,
Justin

What's the difference?

Anyway, I've just ordered one, the price is worth the risk, I'm pretty sure wantitall.co.za wouldn't be selling products which do not work in South Africa. I'll let you guys know how it is when it arrives. If it doesn't work I'll just use it in the US. Hopefully I'll be back in JNB by then...

EDIT: Sh|t Niccia, I knew it was a bit too cheap with no service plan. Dammit, now I need to get a refund or a voucher or something?

That's just sad :(
So I'd hope they would remove it - see the link still works to the product.
