Samsung Pay Could Launch Later This Month

Why not just stick to the simple good ol bank card .

Ja....I dont really understand this craze around Samsung / Apple / Android and what not pay things.

Services like Zapper and SnapScan I can understand because that allows informal traders and people at flea markets etc to take payments easily and cheaply.

Think about locals who may be earning significant income via PayPal, they're quite limited in where they can spend it locally without first withdrawing it to a real bank account and incurring the related fees.

Something like Samsung Pay gives them a way of spending PayPal money almost anywhere directly from their PayPal account, even at merchants that do not support PayPal. AFAIK there's no other solution available to South Africans that can do that, overseas yes, but not here.

I for one don't really care for using my Samsung Pay with PayPal.... I'll stick with my FNB Pay thanks.

FNB pay counts as a normal card swipe. (2% ebucks return on lvl 5)
Samsung pay + paypal is an online transaction (4% return on lvl 5)

Just got a Samsung Pay notification on my S7 Edge, but not on my S8+

Downloading it now

Update: Nevermind. I forgot I'm on UK firmware on my S7 Edge and after an OTA firmware update it then told me Samsung Pay (UK) was available

I had the app side loaded and got a notification. But when I opened it, I get a connection error.

Anyone got any update to what's going on. All articles even the ones from April pointed at a Q3 launch with the Note 8. They all came from reputable sources but something doesn't seem right.
