Never seen a Samsung advert on my Samsung phones.

It's ads firstly, plus it depends entirely on what apps you've installed that have ads. Xiaomi devices normally have ads on their apps, like their cleaner and such.
Outside of those apps there are no ads. So check which apps you're using that have ads.

Those types of ads are generally good candidates for DNS based ad blockers.

You can set up your own local instance with something like PiHole or use paid services like NextDNS or AdGuard.

Those you'd need an ad-blocker for, as those are the websites themselves, not the phone.

Go to Settings > Connections > More Connection Settings > Private DNS and for the host name enter "dns.adguard-dns.com"

It should stop showing the ads. It won't remove the placeholders. If you find that you have connectivity issues now and then , just switch it off for a while.

They certainly do. It depends on the app and the shareware/freeware stuff as well as websites often have ads. If you want no ads for websites, Brave is a good option.
