So my 7 year old 42" Samsung plasma TV has started showing green snow and fuzzy images with vertical lines. I know plasmas are notoriously unreliable, so I opened the back and found 3 swollen capacitors on the power supply board.
I replaced the three dodgy 105C rated caps with 85C rated no name brands - the lines down the screen have semi disappeared, but the problem still persists. I'm wondering if maybe I should replace the other caps as well? I couldn't get 105c rated caps from Communica. Would this make a difference?
The image improved slightly with the replacement of the faulty caps, but maybe I need to replace more? I'm almost certain it's the power supply board.
