Hi Guys

Anyone have this?

How is the image quality?

Whats the difference with the panel (apart from size) from the series 8 64 inch.
The sammy website is confusing on this model....does it have built-in wifi or not?

The best price I can get so far is R19500.00

Is there any LG plasma screens 60 inch and over?

Can't comment on the exact differences but main ones are probably better engine, better colours. better cosmetics, better SMART apps.

PSxxE550 is excellent though, better than last year's PSxxD7000 range according to owners. R20k for a 60" plasma is a steal. Excellent out the box performance with Movie mode (closest to calibration for best picture quality).

Haven't seen PSxxD8000 but I'd be more than happy with PSxxE550. ;)

A few things;

- More advanced engine (signal processor) for better motion handling, scaling and 3D
- Better dual core CPU for more adv smart apps e.g. Angry Birds
- Better panel filtering for reflectivity and contrast
- Camera for Skype and gesture control
- Voice control

It was 18K last week with the tab and bd titles at Save in PMB.

special ended last week but perhaps they could still give it to you or get someone to beat the price.

Was also looking at the 64" but decided against it. twice the price for 4" and all the niceties didn't seem like great value. ended up getting a 46" for the bedroom and will get a projector when I set my home up.
 
Thanks for this. But the e550 doesn't come with a tab. ..only the 46 inch
 
lol wtf was I looking at.

Its the 64 that comes with the tab ( not on that special sheet)
 
save didnt have it when I went. they were expecting stock though. hirschs had it for 38K with the tab and stuff last weekend. not sure if it still applies.
 
Great Plasma imo. No 'soap opera' effect like the LED's. Save occasionally sells product below cost. The bundled deals from Samsung were part of a sales drive. (cannot be unbundled)

Good luck with making the choice.
 
I Got the PS60e550 after some great advice from PostmanPot... VERY HAPPY (PS3,Movies, HD Sport..etc), I managed to get if from Dion Wire for R20k, I have seen it subsequently advertised at Dion Wire fro R20k with a blue ray player. I was offered the PS59E550 for R15k, but I wanted the Smart hub...not really sure the R5k more was worth it??
What I have noticed is the larger you go the Sh*ter SD looks… especially SABC…
 
Nice one Bas, take it you have the HD PVR, so at least the SD channels are being upscaled a bit over HDMI which improves them. You would hate to see SD via analogue connections, would be quite a bit worse! :D
 
I ended up spoiling myself and purchased the PS64E8000. Got it for R37800 bundled with galaxy tab, 6 glasses and 3 movies.

Unboxing this weekend....can't wait:D
 
Thanks guys...but took a lot of convincing wifey dear to spoil myself....reminded her about all the shoes she bought. .

Will post pics once I have it set up.
 
Where did u get it at that price? Im looking for one but they go for R40 000 +. Is it really worth the R20 000 more than the E550
