I pretty urgently need recommendations for a Samsung RV510 equivalent in more or less the R3k to R4k range. Not sure if I'll actually get something with similar specs for that price, but I need to submit something for the insurance by tomorrow. A bit higher is fine, but not preferable.
The 510 was an amazing little notebook for it's price (R3500). Obviously I would buy a new one if I could, but it has since been discontinued. It had a 15" screen, so was much wider than the average notebook. I even played Dishonored on it from start to finish on Low settings, which is mighty impressive for a notebook with a GMA4500 integrated processor. I'm not really interested in straining my laptop like that again so as long as it can play basic GOG games like Thief and Planescape Torment, watch the occasional video and do the odd Word document, I'm happy.
Anyone know what the equivalent would be? I'm checking local sites but most seem to be Atom processers or low-spec dual core processors. Maybe I'm staring myself blind against numbers so if anyone has anyone suggestions it would be much appreciated. I'm not 100% sure what I should be looking for. As long as it's not something with an Atom processor. My mom's Atom notebook went to a new home and I don't think we did the people a favor by giving that slow piece of trash away.
