Having owned the SGS 3 for some 2 or 3 months, I have only one feature that irritates me - the side rocker volume button is constantly being bumped, and I end up unwittingly with a phone whose volume is turned right down, when I want it almost right up. I think they should have placed this rocker switch on top of the phone where it cannot be accidentally pressed.....or at least they should have recessed the rocker so it can't be pushed easily.

Is there a way to disable this hardware enabled volume rocker ? I want to exclusively control the volume within the Android software, where the volume can not be accidentally changed.

How can only accidentally change the volume when the device is on, unless you don't lock the phone when you put it in your pocket or something?

I guess the problem is also with the power ON/OFF button. Clearly the phone powers on very easily when in the pocket, then the volume changes once the phone is on. I often walk around with the phone in my pocket, and hear all kinds of tones coming from the phone....even though I had turned the phone off before putting it in my pocket.

I think Samsung should make a power button like the Apple iPhone - on top of the phone. But there again, maybe that would be another copy infringement :D
