Samsung S5 Mini - voice suddenly too soft

The past week people have been reporting that my voice is very faint on my Samsung S5 mini, like I'm holding it very far away.

I haven't been able to fix it with any setting changes, when using voice recorder I can hear it is uselessly faint... hardware issue possibly?

I actually stopped using my S5 in frustration because the mike blows goats.

I don't use much voice on it, but when I do, I use voice on it...

It does indeed look like there is something in it. Now what?
