Samsung S8003 E-Mail Settings

I am having trouble setting up an E-Mail account on a Samsung Jet S8003 for my Gmail account. The only server settings that work are POP3 – it then proceeds to download my entire inbox, archive and subfolders from the web instead of the new, unread email. I have followed the instructions from the Vodacom website to no avail.

I am having trouble setting up an E-Mail account on a Samsung Jet S8003 for my Gmail account. The only server settings that work are POP3 – it then proceeds to download my entire inbox, archive and subfolders from the web instead of the new, unread email. I have followed the instructions from the Vodacom website to no avail.

I think the only relevant setting with POP3 on the Jet is the download limit.

I would recommend using IMAP instead of POP. That way you can specify downloading only new mail.

The download limit seems to work. Problem is IMAP does not work on the mobile phone - I get a "Log In Failure" error.
