Hi all,

I've bought a Samsung 2333SW on Wednesday, but I have one dead pixel. What's Samsung's dead pixel swap policy in SA?

It's in the top left part of the screen, centerish.

Yeah, I also doubt they'll change it. It doesn't bother me that much anyway, but I am a bit of a perfectionist and I like it when all my stuff is perfect :)

Who did you buy it from? Most retailers have a 7 days return policy these days. I'd say give the retailer all hell - dead/hot pixels are unacceptable in my book.

Samsung monitor products conform to the ISO 13406-2 standard with regards to dead or missing pixels.

The minimum number of defective pixels we allow before we will replace an in warranty monitor is as follows:

  • For a 15" Monitor - 7 or more bad pixels
  • For 17" and 19" Monitors -10 or more bad pixels
  • For 21" - 24" Monitors - 17 or more bad pixels.

For questions or the replacement procedure, please contact our Customer Care Center at 0860 SAMSUNG (0860726786).

17! LOL! Holy smokes. I'm a bit irritated by one. Just think if you'be got 16 and can't replace it! HAHA!

Has anyone even heard of someone that has got more than 2 dead pixels?

I actually phoned samsung about this last week, they told me they would replace a monitor with 5.

Ah ok. Well, that's fine then. I only have one and it's not that irritating. Not worth the hassle of trying to replace it.

I'm thinking of selling my 2232gw and adding to buy a 2333sw.

I've returned Samsung 22" screens with 1 dead pixel to suppliers (within 7 days).

Retailers are different because they've probably had the screen for more than 7 days (and it's an inconveniece swapping out screens with 1 dead pixel).

I just got the same monitor with the same problem :/ Hot/Dead pixel in the left hand bottom side of the screen. Got my retailer to replace it after making a fuss. I hate dead pixels xD

It's awesome. The colours are vibrant. The blacks are black, the greys are grey.

I love this monitor :D

I recommend you kick up a fuss too, don't take no for an answer. Trust me they'll do it just to have you out of their hair!
I think even 1 dead pixel is unacceptable. I mean hello we pay for new unblemished goods! Might as well just buy a 2nd hand 24" with a dead pixel or something..

Luckily mine arrived in pristine condish..

When i purchased my 2333sw it had one dead pixel, i returned it the next day for another one only to come home and find out that it also has a dead pixel. So i just left it as is. its NORMAL
