I just arrived in Abu Dhabi near Dubai to visit my parents.
I had ordered this and got it delivered to them:

Hardware spec looks tasty, wish I could get one.....but with a different OS...looking forward to that review!

I have used windows 7 tabs, they suck.All you can do with that is really use it in the docking station as a laptop.
The text input etc is not as good as iOS or Android. But its got nice hardware specs!

Gotta disagree with you there. The handwriting recognition actually works surprisingly well. Somehow it understands my scrawl. But yes, the keyboard could use some work. It comes with swype which looks like it could be descent but I havent used it too much. I am installing windows 8 soon to see how the Keyboard is in that.

Ok, so i installed Windows 8.
The keyboard is pretty similar to the WP7 one, and easily is better than the iPads one.
Also, it boots completely in 10 seconds! (cold boot, not form sleep or hibernate).

I have an ExoPC, and it boots in 11 secs (with an Atom processor).
I guess that (almost) as fast as Windows 8 can get. The hard drive must still be the bottleneck (even thought it is an SSD).

Regarding the keyboard, I love the split keyboard in Windows 8; perfect for writing while holding the tablet
