Hi

Someone gave me their old Samsung SM-J100H cellphone.
It was not used for a while and when we turned it on it just hangs at the start screen with the "Samsung J1" writing.
There is a red exclamation mark at the top left of the screen.
I believe I can try a Firmware reload with a Windows PC via the USB cable.
I have downloaded the Firmware file,

Will I be able to do this using the Android SDK if i have not previously installed the USB drivers?
Will it recognise the phone?

Thanking in advance.

How many threads are you going to start for this phone?
Which is the current status?

Android recovery Mode

The top red exclamation mark is indicating the system's integrity have been compromised (root or custom rom or custom recovery) Head over to XDA Forums, search for ODIN, download it. Head over to sammobile and get the ZA rom for the handset. Flash it. Done. Im not gonna explain the flash process. There are countless howtos on XDA for that.

Sorry. New to Forums.

Thanks for the help.
This thread is the latest regarding the phone.

I have Odin and the Flash file.

Will I be able to flash this phone using the Android SDK if i have not previously installed the USB drivers?
Will it recognise the phone?

Thanks

ODIN already has the drivers for this. Put the phone into download mode, open up ODIN with admin privileges and then plug in USB cable. Should show up ODIN. Proceed with flash procedure.

Thanks Ruhan

I did try that but it didn't pick up the phone but it was not with admin privileges.

Will try again! Thanks!
