My laptop is getting older and sluggish. Shipped with a 500mb normal laptop HDD (IDE/SATA/whatever). Keep all media on networked ext HDD. Can exchange laptop's HDD with new Samsung 2.5"250GB 840 Evo Solid Sate HDD @ R1,699 excl. Advisable? And... Reasonable price?

The 500x storage space would be quite good. Never knew that they shipped laptops with that small HDDs this decade. Sure you do not want to get another Laptop?

You better make sure if your laptop is IDE or SATA as the SSD will be SATA.

That's an excellent price for the SSD though and highly recommended.
