I have recently upgraded to windows 7 and after installation I found that windows reported my native resolution as 1600 1200, but it should be 1680 1050.. I had windows XP previously and had the same problem when using a digital (DVI) cable. By using analog windows XP allowed all modes to be exposed and I was able to select 1680 1050 by creating a custom resolution with nvidia control panel.
When using windows 7 it is not possible to create the custom resolution with nvidia control panel as it says "resolution test failed". So I was wondering if it is possible to change the reported native resolution of a monitor? Also windows 7 reports my monitor as being a samsung syncmaster not a T220 even after drivers have been installed.
I have checked if the problem is my graphics card as I have plugged my monitor into other computers and the reported native resolution is still 1600 1200.
I am using a Leadtek 9800GT
