Not sure if I'm in the right section but I'm seeking advice on how to proceed.

Approx 5 weeks ago, my note pro 12.2" started having screen flicker issues and I also spotted some dead pixels when this happened.

I took it into Samsung (Riverhorse Valley) and they have consistently changed their tune about when it would be ready. "Should be this week" has been the story every week.

At present, they were struggling to flash firmware to the new mainboard. At first the download was failing, but now apparently it's just failing to flash.

This is a less than 5 month old tablet, supposedly the top of the line Samsung tablet at that. And I haven't had use of it for over a month. It was originally purchased from Orange store ZA (online)

How do I proceed? Do I kick up a fuss at Samsung and demand a new tablet? Do I retrieve it and insist Orange gives me a new one? What's the CPA story with this?

Thanks in advance.

Your biggest problem here would be the fact that you bought the device outside the country. One would normally query this with the store you purchased it from as they have their own terms and conditions for warranty. They would normally swap it out for you based on what the Samsung repair centre says.

It works very similar to the cellphone providers. They send it to Samsung first and only if it cannot be repaired, will they swap it out for you. I had the same thing happen with my sisters phone.

You could hit a fuss about why its taking very long, but I'm not sure whether this particular repair centre will replace it for you as the stock came from the Orange store. You could try and query it with them though.

Is orange store ZA not considered as South African stock?

No, they import international models. That's why they're cheaper, they don't add all the typical SA greed costs.

Still, companies like Samsung etc normally have worldwide warranties anyway.

I waited 12 weeks for Samsung to change a digitiser on a S5 phone. I got a call 8 weeks after I had handed it in to say they had received it, but it was still faulty and were having another go

So I bought an iPhone instead and are much happier
