My moms Samsung TV's USB port looks to be lifted, when plugging in a USB it gets awfully hot. Do the positions of the pins look normal? Will pushing the pins down get it back to the original state?

The plastic terminal carrier is missing. It's probably attached to one of your usb sticks. Stop using that port - it's now borked. You'll fry your tv.

Ah. Any idea where I can get it fixed in Joburg?

Sorry no. If the outer 2 pins (5.5v) touch either of the inner 2 (data) pins, it's goodnight Samsung... When this happens to me I power off, fill the hole with silicon so no-one can use it, and move on.

Google Samsung service centre. I've seen that happen on a Sony before. That is why I use a USB extension cable on all my TVs so I don't have to unplug straight from the port all the time.
