I have an account with mweb, where I pay them for adsl line rental as well (all inclusive). I also have the FON router.

Now I am thinking of getting a Samsung TV which comes with free Data, will I be able to sell that data to someone that wants it? Because it will be a mission to cancel Mweb, and I will have to pay to return the FON router....

Anyone know if the voucher can be used by anyone?

The data must be used up in 12 months, therefore it works out to just over 83 Gigs a month which is not half bad!

I'm pretty sure if I can sell it for a good deal there would be someone interested.

your ideas and comments please!

Alright so eventually I got an answer from the service centre, data is linked to the TV, so no one else can use it except the TV buyer.

It would be crazy of them to allow something like that

I went for this offer. They require the Tv's MAC address. Once activated they send you the adsl router username and password.

So basically the ADSL can be used anywhere, correct? Only 1 concurrent connection though

So what are you saying? anyone can use the data as long as they have that username and password?
According to the guy I spoke to, it must be used with the TV somehow. Unless he didnt know what he was talking about and was thinking of eh mac address thing.

It is ADSL account details....unless they want you to have a seperate adsl line just for your TV, there is no easy way for them to monitor what devices you are using on the other side of your router.

I think he was selling you a story. You need the Mac address to get the details, but from then on, you can use 1tb with what you want.

ya I've just been thinking, they cant force you to keep the lan cable plugged into the TV or make you keep the TV switched on for it to somehow 'monitor' that its still linked to the TV.

Im keen then, just need someone who only wants data for a once off cost.

You need to send them the wired MAC address which is displayed when yu plug the TV into the router via network cable, wifi MAC address does not work.
