So here's my dilemma - I'm trying to choose between the Panasonic TH-P42X30Q for R5499 and the Samsung PS43E450 for R4999. Both are similar spec'd models - the Panasonic has better connectivity options (Wifi ready, ethernet, D-Sub and a bunch of others) but no anti-glare. The Sammy has less connectivity but is a 2012 model with Real Black and much better power consumption. The 2012 Panasonic model (X50) is only expected in SA around July / August.

Anybody have a strong leaning towards or concern about either of these TVs?

EDIT: Their respective spec sheets can be seen here for the Samsung and here for the Panasonic.

If the Samsung anti-glare really works, that I'd go for it. Try to compare an old Samsung D series (not anit-glare) with the new E series (with anti-glare), to see if it really works.

Good point! Has anyone managed to have a look at the effectiveness of the Real Black?

I've changed my mind slightly and am now looking at the E490 Sammy and not the E450 anymore. The E490 at least has an ethernet port. It has 3D too, but this isn't important to me though.

For some reason I'm drawn to the Panasonic - the big question marks are just around the lack of infinite black / real black and the higher power consumption.
