Samsung

This is not exactly PC Hardware, but Digital cameras and PC's go hand in hand, so I hope this is the right board to post on.

I happen to come about some extra cash I can spend and decided to treat myself with a Digital camera. The one I have in mind is the Samsung S1060. I went to my favourite local electronics shop to ask for a quote and they said that the supplier they use to get Samsung products from no longer supply Samsung. They can't help me at all. Disappointed, I went online and ordered one from kalahari.co.za. Now I get an email that there is an unforeseen delay in the delivery and they will send it as soon as they can.

This makes me wonder if there is some sort of problem with Samsung. Does anyone here know?

I've always been impressed with all Samsung products I've bought and it would be a pity if Samsung is going down the drain now.

Why Samsung? If it was me I would stick with Nikon, Canon, Olympus & Pentax, companies that have been making cameras for ages.

I hear Kalahari have a fantastic Samsung camera either on special or at a good price. Can't remember the model though, think it's around R2000.

Samsung are good IMO. It's likely that they could manufacture some of the parts in the above brands.
