Samsung's Galaxy Camera Phone Attempt, laughable

Need I say more.

To me it is a GS4 slapped onto a digital camera. They call it the Galaxy Zoom. I can see how one can do a lot of optical zooming with it - but, geez.

It makes the point that the Lumia 92x is a real diamond in the rough and that Nokia is really onto something and they have done a lot to miniturize the camera aspects so as to make a phone that is actually a phone with a camera and not a camera that you can use to make calls on.

According to a report I saw recently, lot of people are swopping digital cameras for smartphones leading to companies like Canon, Olympus and Kodak to lose out on sales. With the EOS on the horizon, this Samsung attempt is seriously proving that Nokia has what it takes to go back on top.

Did I hurt your feelings guys?

A lot of Android/Apple fans (purporting to be neutrals) derided the Lumia 920 for its size (because of Optical Image Stabilization and low light tech) when it came out. The camera is one of the most important features on the 920 so any attempt to produce anything that tries to match Nokia's efforts would need to be put into context.

I was just kidding about your feelings.

Well, if you look at the picture, it is trying to tell you that the Galaxy Zoom is the closest direct competition to the Lumia EOS (also in the picture).

Does that make sense to you now?
 
I'm yet to meet anybody who actually owns a 920 (or that other 45megapixel monster). Might be a great camera but the market penetrated is pitiful.
 
OP, just ask rpm to change your forum nickname to NokiaWindowsFan and get it over with.

I hear the Lumia 520 has sold close to 2 million units in the last 2 months, so you might not have to wait long before someone shows up next to you with a Lumia 920.

Lumia's are growing in popularity.

I don't see the issue, it's a phone with a snazzy camera or visa-versa, not sure why it's laughable?

I don't think it is practical to be quite honest. It is just too bulky for a phone.

I really don't think I should have had to explain that to you.

It's only a bit smaller than the 920 though?

*You* didn't understand the vice versa in his comment. It's actually a camera with an Android device attached...
