Hello all,

Hoping someone can help me out.

Long story short (and at the risk of some forum-shopping) - looking for a 64GB microSDXC card - preferably through Kalahari, since I have some vouchers with cash to use.

THIS SDXC is the Android version. It apparently comes with some sort of memory manager, that is utilised by downloading and installing an app. My question - would this be ONLY Android device specific? Will it not run properly in a PC/Macbook? Or is the 'manager' something that can simply be ignore/should not interfere with anything else?

Many thanks!

I have one of those - though I've only ever used it in my Android phone :)

I can't think of any logical reason as to why it wouldn't work in any device though. Didn't realise it had any special 'Android' features before now though.

Thanks Dean!

[Edit]

I guess 1st prize would be someone who has tried it in both. Really don't want to fork over close to R1k for a subpar experience.

Would try myself but unfortunately no longer have the adapter and all my microSD devices run Android :D

I ordered one off Amazon, total costs including shipping was R507. The savings alone is worth the wait.

Unfortunately the price has gone up by approximately R150 since I ordered mine.

Thanks! Will have a looksie. Any ideas on it working in a non-Android device?

SD cards are universal and will work in any modern compatible device, it will work so long as the device you want to use it in is compatible with the storage size.

I hope so! It was just that memory management functionality that had me wondering... Will see what I can find out - and take things from there. Thanks for the feedback!

I have the 16GB version in my BlackBerry Q10. It works like a charm, very fast and is ideal of capturing HD video on to.

Just to close this loop - Sandisk distributor just came back to me, and confirmed there will be no issues - the only difference being the (optional) app.

No, but if you want I can do so and run some speed tests.

The geek in me is screaming "yes please" - the other bit is saying 'thanks man - but don't want to put anyone to any trouble... unless you're also curious!?" :p
