Sandy Bridge: The Countdown

I'm also keen to see it arrive, but I'm waiting for the "S" and "T" chips, nice low power models for HTPCs. The onboard graphics appeals to me, and the new boards with USB 3 and DVI, HDMI and Displayport (so I can plug it straight into a zr30w <drool> or my TV). Hopefully soon!

My HTPC is going to be more powerful than my main desktop, thanks to these chips (and cheaper too), but I refuse to upgrade a perfectly good computer that isn't even two years old. Moore's law, I guess.

Uh. Sandy bridge is already here guys. Should be on my desk soon as well :)

Then the advertising sucks because I haven't seen any mention from Retailers and online shops in S.A. Guess I'll have to wait for the latest PC Format to see If there's any mention about anything.

Chech wootware's homepage for an ad

Prophecy's got them in stock already, but not even Newegg has the "S" or "T" models yet, so that's going to be a while.

Landmark PC, Wootware and Prophecy Shop already has Sandy Bridge components and some are already in stock at the shop!

I've been keeping an eye on NewEgg. They haven't got even a whiff of SB unless I'm looking in the wrong place.

I really want to see a review of 2500T and 2100T. It bothers me that they are significantly lower frequency but as soon as it Turbos it shoots up to nearly the same frequency as the standard parts. Makes me think that Intel quote those TDP ratings based on non-Turbo rates.

Anyone know if Esquire will start selling these soon?

I am waiting for a Sandy Bridge laptop, it should be worthwhile in there.

Sandy bridge components are already on the Rectron pricelist. I have no idea of stock, though.
