Has anyone signed up for their products and would you recommend it?

I am referring to income protector, death and disability insurance, etc.

Not with Sanlam, but i got income protector, it costs me like R40 a month or something stupid. Would be suicidal not to get it..

These guys are quoting me approx. R 515 a month for income protector, life cover, a monthly disabillity income, dreaded disease cover, illness benefit and premium waiver.

I was wondering if this is excessive.

Its hard to say, i will double check what mine is, but i think its quite a bit less.....The fine print here is also especialyl important. They had alot of clauses on some of the packages i looked at....

It's not excessive.

Life cover is quite cheap, disability/dread disease cover is fairly expensive. I can PM you what I used to pay on Greenlight, and what I was quoted for Momentum if you're interested.

dunno, devil is in the detail - look when they start paying out. If I am longer than 7 days (calendar) sick, they start paying from day 1. Default is 30 days I think. I pay just on 1K for this income proptector (Discovery). For me it makes sense, as not working for a number of days, can be a tad expensive. :-(
Is also tax deductible.

I'd appreciate that ... whenever you can, no rush :)
