SANLAM Liquid Interest Rates

I remember when the product was introduced, the interest rate attached to it was announced in big, bold letters as up to 11 or 12%.

Now, checking the Savings Account Yields shows that the best rate they offer (on a balance of R 50k+) is a meagre 7.46%. Fixed deposits only go up to 9.15%.

Depressing.

Is there another option out there that offers better rates ?

Well, Capitec is also not 11% or whatever anymore but 7% and niether is Virgin Money CC 9% anymore but 5%... It's due the prime rate being cut.

I really hate that advertisers are allowed to advertise anything "up to" a certain amount.

Up to 11% includes everything from 0.0001% to 11%. Not really honest.

AND they also do not tell you that you need a deposit of R50k+ to qualify for the maximum interest rate.
