So I wonder why there hasnt been some form of attack on their web servers yet. Surely there are still some botnets floating around... Someone point them at the oppressors! Nail their MXs too!

Their servers are absolutely un-hackable, I can guarantee that not even the best hacker in the world would be able to bypass/hack SANRAL's system. Its not even written in a language programmers would understand.

No hacker would dare, lest they risk being charged R1.78/km of copper their binary travels!

Well think about what's been happening around the world with these 'Anonymous' hackers, they have hacked the most 'un-hackable' sites around the world. Yes quite a few have been arrested as well, however they were still able to get into thousands of systems that people would consider 'un-hackable'.

If there is anyone that would hack the servers, it would be those guys, and yes believe you me, there are many of the 'Anonymous' hackers here in South Africa, they are just quite and stay under the covers. Sooner or later, Sanral or its site/host/payment gateway, or whatever, will at some point be taken down. Watch this space, you make a valid point, and retaliation is definitely imminent, its just a matter of time. Just my opinion.

FYI, if you follow these 'Anonymous' hacking crowds on Twitter, you will see what I am talking about, these people live to hack and take down corrupted governments and corporations. They are considered the 'Elite' in the hacking underground.

Just my 5 cents.

Really now... what language could that be...
Sorry I don't buy that...

I know someone who worked for them recently. Unless C# is a language programmers don't understand then I am missing something.

Don't under-estimate, even South African hackers. I've been places!

Owe I would put my balls on the line to say that SANRAL system is hackable.

The government said the lotto was unbreakable....yet some smart ass found a loop hole in the system and beat it....so yes.....SANRAL can be beaten.

Hmm.....those times when you just find a similar car to yours and make the same plates, then piggy back off someone else's e-tag, then SANRAL ****s themselves in a law suite when they try and arrest some random guy because his e-tag didn't match his plates, only to later find out through credit card records that guy was having lunch 200km away from where his so called number plate was picked up using a different e-tag.....shame.....so many loop holes.

Nothing is un-hackable.
Trust me this system is...

If they could they would, wouldn't they?

LMAO It is a language that none of us understand, only they[Alli Baba and his bunch of ****ers] do---> it is a language called <Stupid ver 10.5> with a bit of <Arrogance ver 2.0>, some <Lies ver 18.3>, and specially encrypted with <Theft ver 1.5>

Did someone really crack the lotto? any references?

I would double dare someone to hack the SANRAL system---> how about we try to make bounty that every motorist puts R1 in a hat, and more if they can afford it, that would be :erm: +- 4million motorists @ R1 each? :)

DOS like a BOSS would cripple them for a few days... Just enough to annoy them. Then again it is SANRAL, make that a few years.

Edit: Sorry, double post removed

so far the only options are Virus, Worm, DIY EMP, or the local cable theft guy/girl who scores a bonus coz a +-R50k camera is attached to the one end
