My little brother has been wanting to add some sound to his car for years. Being the awesome big bro that I am I've ordered him one of the following for Xmas:

Problem is I have no idea what amp to buy for this thing. My budget is around R1000.

What are the specs? You need to get the right RMS power rating as well as the impedance (ohms) rating. Not that 1300W.

It looks like it us 350W at 4ohms, https://m.bidorbuy.co.za/item/34458...h2LiwknEAkYASABEgLwqfD_BwE#mobile-description

You just an amp that matches those specs, I don't kniw about brands and all that, If you just need an amp for the sub I would go for the monoblock type, Just a single channel amp for the sub.

Cheers Comrade. I take it the 1300w on the front is PMPO AKA marketing BS? I'm useless when it comes to audio. If I find an amp that does more that 350w RMS that should be okay?

Yes, it should be okay, just remember it should specify the power at a particular impedance, e.g 350W at 4ohms, anything closer to that will still work though, as long as it's rated power output is closer to the power rating of the sub, even our home stereos don't pump maximum power into the speakers, so a 320w@4ohms will still work. I don't remember correctly but i think the amp should be good to deliver a minimum of 75% of the sub rated power.
